Mission Statement
Simonton Christian Academy's mission is to provide the opportunity for a biblically based, quality educational experience for its students by emphasizing traditional studies and the teaching of the Bible, Christian ethics, and a Christian world view.
History
Simonton Christian Academy was founded in 1992 by parents within the membership of Simonton Community Church. This single concentrated effort of a small group of Christians has blessed S.C.A. students with spiritual and academic standards for a lifetime.
Government
Simonton Christian Academy is a Texas non-profit organization, part of Simonton Community Church. The school is administered by Simonton Community Church Board of Trustees, which is responsible to the Simonton Community Church. The Board of Trustees consists of seven persons, the eighth being the Senior Pastor of Simonton Community Church who serves as a non-voting member. The Board of Trustees is responsible for all activities of the school, including formulation and implementation of policy, administration of finances, employment, curriculum, etc.
Curriculum
Simonton Christian Academy offers classes from pre-school age 3 and pre-kindergarten age 4 through the sixth grade. In addition to the standard subjects, the Academy offers art, Chapel, and Bible. Physical Education classes have the use of a full-sized gym and enrichment activities are scheduled weekly in the computer lab.
Our school endorses strong Christian-based curriculum using A Beka and Bob Jones texts. The Saxon math curriculum is used in grades one through six.
We offer an accelerated pre-school program that promotes reading readiness skills and basic math skills. The core subjects are taught in the mornings with enriching, structured activities taught in the afternoons
